TALENT NEEDS A RECRUITING PLAN.
Four moves to make your next step specific:
1. Introduce yourself. Send a concise, personal email with your graduation year, position, school, academics, verified measurables and a working video link. Explain why that program interests you. Use the staffâs official contact details.
2. Research a broad, realistic school list across levels. Fifty schools can be an example starting exerciseânot a rule or a mass-email quota. Refine the list with your family and coaches.
3. Prioritize fit: academics, cost after aid, current roster needs and player development. Ask coaches how they see your potential role. Playing time is not guaranteed.
4. Keep your own tracker: school, coach, email date, reply, next step and follow-up date. Follow up with a useful update, and respect the programâs instructions.
Keep developing as you follow through. Update your video and measured results as your game changes. NCAA communication rules vary by sport, division and grade level, so a delayed reply is not a complete evaluation of your ability.
