He's the head coach of the Green Bay Packers, and one of his players just said in court that he takes "full responsibility" for criminal battery against a woman. I would expect more than just "Whoops, things happen!"

He still doesn't get that it wasn't about Balogun. Nobody cares about Balogun. He's bang average. It was about the sport. A sport that this world cup has already tarnished with "Powerade hydration breaks" and will continue to tarnish with a pedophile presenting the trophy. It was about the rules of the game. Things crafted over decades. Being thrown away because the aforementioned pedophile threatened the President of FIFA and forced them to A) Make a completely unprecedented decision. B) Lie to cover it up. C) Force the rest of the world to listen to and read the dumbest takes imaginable. As well as laughable bullshit about section 27, VAR not being applied properly, "bang bang plays" and all manner of stupidity from a bunch of people who won't watch another game until 2030, or in some cases until we are all unfortunate enough to have to suffer through another World Cup held in America.
As a proud American let me be the first to congratulate Belgium. You guys were the far superior team. Granted I can’t tell if you guys are any good cause we are so pathetic but you beat us fair and square. Now in hindsight doesn’t all the bellyaching about Balogun playing seem silly?

US football fans: “Var in soccer is crazy! Prohibits me from liking the sport!” Also US football fans: “Well you see it’s not a catch because he didn’t make a football move and if you zoom in you can see that the WR’s toe grazed a blade of grass, so it’s obviously a touchback.”

I think the people who think offside is a dumb rule should play a 90 minute 11v11 match as a defender with no offsides, and report back with their findings

QUIT TRYING TO FIX SOCCER!!! The most popular sport in the world is having a generational tournament and doesn’t need fixing. Offside, pk’s, running clock, these are all working as they are supposed to. Is everything perfect, no! But it’s impossible to make it perfect and god knows every other sport has its own imperfections & transgressions. Sit back and enjoy the beauty, the drama, the pageantry, the controversy, and the incredible sport in all of its glory. It’s been damn near perfect! (You are allowed to complain about hydration breaks, the corruption of FIFA, and embellishment/flopping).
From @TheAthleticFC: Penalty shootouts are brutal. Is there a better way to settle tied games? A fairer way? A more fitting test of skills? We asked our writers and this is what they think the World Cup can steal from other sports: nyti.ms/3SAbKgI

I don’t understand this thinking. Toe was on the line, we should still call it a 3? Stopped an inch short of the goal line, we should still call it a TD? Puck went bar down, but it bounced out, we should still call it a goal? Ball just missed the foul pole, still a home run?
Imagine thinking this is good for the game
