For all those crying in the comments, Umar Khalid spoke about Kashmiris right to self-determination. THIS ISN'T CALLING FOR SEPARATION.
I'm from Tamil Nadu. WE get to DECIDE OUR future and who leads our state and YOU get to DECIDE YOUR political future. So why should Kashmiris be DENIED the RIGHT to have a say in their own future? How is it WRONG to demand that? Why are you so INSECURE about even discussing their rights?
I had a Kashmiri teacher in 12th grade. When I asked him why he left Kashmir, he told me he didn't want to be LABELLED a terrorist. He spoke about WITNESSING a five year-old child being KILLED by the army. He said he just wanted to be treated as an EQUAL INDIAN. He was happy in Tamil Nadu because he felt he was treated well here.
If you and I can decide our political future, why can’t Kashmiris who are fellow Indians too?
