AN APOLOGY DOESN'T ERASE THE INSULT!
When it comes to a nation's history and its national symbols, there is no room for shallow excuses or claims of “poor judgment.” Anyone who profits from the Chinese market must first respect the feelings of the Chinese people.

Mao Zedong is under any single social metric a dictator. Not a single popular election, single government party and lifetime leadership. Not even taking into account the millions of deaths under his reign.

Both options carried risk, BUT not the same kind.
A bad acquisition shows up in the accounts. The years you spend climbing up from the bottom of a market never appear on a board paper.
Caution feels free.
It rarely is.
