446-home farm plan paused. At Hopton-on-Sea, Norfolk, a tenant farmer faced eviction as Norfolk County Council planned 446 homes across 61 acres. Lowe opposed it and Restore councillors threatened legal action; the council has now ordered a viability review. Restore Britain stood with the farmer.

For a long time I was very pro-Israel. That view has only changed over the past 12 to 18 months. Looking back at the Iraq War and the claims about weapons of mass destruction — claims that were not borne out — and at the wars in Afghanistan, Syria, Libya and, more recently, direct conflict with Iran, I began to notice how often the fighting has clustered around powers in Israel’s wider neighbourhood. I would have no problem with Israel existing if secure existence were the only goal. What has changed my mind is what we have watched since October 2023: Gaza has been devastated, large parts of the Strip remain under Israeli military control, and in southern Lebanon Israel has occupied and destroyed many border villages. Some Christian villages there have been cut off and appear to be land grabbed therefore Israel is expanding. That is why I no longer accept that this is only about survival. Parts of the Israeli right now speak more openly about a “Greater Israel” vision, drawing on biblical claims that God promised the land to the Jewish people. Genius 15:18 “To your offspring I give this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates.” That idea is real in religious and nationalist politics. As war in the Middle East continues, and as those wars keep pushing people towards Europe, I would ask you to look at the pattern and consider who benefits from it remaining unending. I could continue to talk about what the Jewish religion teaches about non believers and their views about Jesus Christ, but for now, I hope the pattern regarding war and land expansion may atleast help to explain my concerns regarding Zionism.
