I like going to concerts, but if I’m paying a couple hundred dollars for a ticket, I want to hear the artist actually sing. I get using backing tracks if there’s a big production going on. Dancing. Costume changes. Pyro. Whatever. The problem is when the backing track starts doing most of the work. If most of the vocals are already recorded, what am I paying all that money for? I don’t care if every note is perfect. I just want the live concert to actually be live. Does this bother anyone else, or is it just me??

61 years ago today, The Beatles became Saturday morning cartoons. The Beatles animated series premiered on ABC on September 25, 1965, right in the middle of Beatlemania. John, Paul, George and Ringo didn’t do the speaking voices. Paul Frees voiced John and George, while Lance Percival voiced Paul and Ringo. The actual Beatles recordings were used when they sang. The show ran for 39 episodes over three seasons. The very first episode featured “A Hard Day’s Night” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand.” Imagine being a kid in 1965. You heard The Beatles on the radio, then Saturday morning you could turn on the TV and watch them as cartoons. Did you watch The Beatles animated series?

Gilmore Girls came in 99th on the NYT best TV list of the century. 👀 Ahead of it: Squid Game, Baby Reindeer, The Diplomat, and a baking show. Behind it: Scandal. Stars Hollow just got told they’re not even the most dramatic small town on television. Luke’s gonna need a minute. 🤣🤣🤣

We Are Finally Here! Day 10 of the Top Ten Best Albums of All Time. Coming in at #1: “Dark Side of the Moon” by Pink Floyd in 1973. The Dark Side of the Moon isn’t “the best album ever” because it won a week at No. 1 in 1973 and then politely left. It’s because it never really left. It’s a 43-minute argument about being a person: time running out while you’re still figuring out what the clock is for, money turning into a personality, war as background noise, madness as something that can happen to anyone, death as the one appointment nobody skips. Waters wrote it like a sermon. The band recorded it like a machine that also had a pulse. Good Friday 𝕏💵 Tips used to be how we showed appreciation for good service. Now I’ve got a kiosk asking me for 20%, 25% or 30%. And if I hit “no tip,” the price of what I was already buying goes up. So what exactly am I tipping for? If saying no makes the price higher, that’s not really a tip anymore. You’re charging me for not tipping. Does this even make sense?
