I love how health insurance covers your body, but somehow your teeth and eyes are separate. Apparently the human body ends at the neck, and everything above that requires the premium upgrade.

Do what makes your soul happy We spend so much time worrying about whether other people understand the things that make us happy. But joy doesn’t need to be logical, impressive, or approved by anyone else to be meaningful. Sometimes the little things that make no sense to everyone else are exactly what we need. What’s something that makes you happy even if other people don’t understand it?

We don't throw away perfectly good food in my house... We put it in Tupperware until it goes bad, then we throw it away.

1. Clock in. 2. Don’t get fired. 3. Clock out. Anything beyond that is above my pay grade.

Controlling my sarcasm at work is a whole job by itself. Especially when management says, “Let’s circle back,” like we didn’t already waste an hour talking about it.

TIP OF THE DAY: Take your breaks. Clock out on time. Use your PTO. That company will replace you before your chair gets cold, so stop sacrificing yourself like you own the place.

Forget team-building exercises. Nothing brings coworkers together faster than surviving the same terrible manager. Apparently bad leadership is the strongest team-building program they’ve got.

NEW HIRE: Should I speak up in meetings? ME: Absolutely. Say one honest thing and watch how fast ‘we value feedback’ turns into ‘let’s talk after the meeting.’

BOSS: We need to circle back. ME: We’ve circled back so many damn times, I’m convinced nobody knows how to move forward. Meetings are just management’s way of looking busy without actually fixing sh*t.

If you work 40+ hours a week, you shouldn’t spend every month wondering if you’ll make it to payday. A full-time job should provide stability, not just barely enough to survive until the next check. If working full-time still leaves you unable to afford basic life, that’s not a work ethic problem, that’s a system failing the people doing the work.

Just read Absolute Batman 19-24 by @Ssnyder1835 and reading the arc straight through like I did was really good and definitely better than reading one issue at a time I think.

Sometimes it feels easier to quit than report the employee who’s been there forever. Management protects their “experience” and tells everyone else to grow thicker skin. That’s not loyalty. That’s favoritism with seniority.

My work mood depends on very serious things: How I slept. Whether I had coffee. Who’s working today. Whether someone annoyed me before I clocked in. And how many times management says, “Quick question…”

When I say I’m blessed I don’t mean money or material stuff I mean situations that was sent to destroy me or make me lose my mind but I stood tall against all odds

The devil working through other people still cannot overpower the God living inside of you. That’s why you don’t have to respond to everything. You don’t have to defend yourself every time somebody misunderstands you. You don’t have to prove your heart to people committed to seeing you wrong. You don’t have to fight every rumor, every accusation, every slick comment, or every person who comes against you. Some battles will drain you just because you keep trying to fight them in your own strength. There will be people who oppose you, judge you, speak against you, or try to make you question yourself. And sometimes it will feel personal. Sometimes it will feel unfair. Sometimes it will feel like too much. But don’t forget who lives in you. 1 John 4:4 KJV says, “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” So protect your peace. Pray before you react. Let God handle what you cannot control. You don’t have to become loud just because somebody else is being messy. What’s in them is not stronger than what God placed in you.

Appreciate the applause and apply humility!

And when you come out of this, don’t look back!
