Dating back to the beginning of the 2024 season, BYU (29-4) has the second-best record in all of college football (roughly 130 total teams).
The only team with a better record in this time frame than the Cougars is the 2026 national champion Indiana Hoosiers, who are 33-3 since August 2024.
I cannot emphasize the previous two paragraphs enough. Please go back and read them again right now.
In other words, the Cougars (and the Hoosiers) have a better record than roughly 130 teams, as I just mentioned.
That includes Ohio State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Georgia, Miami, Ole Miss, Texas Tech, Texas, Tennessee, Alabama, and the rest of the SEC & Big Ten.
If your response is asking us who we’ve played or questioning the strength of our schedule, we just played Notre Dame and look what happened.
So spot the ball and let’s settle it on the field, unless, of course, you’d rather opt out like Notre Dame did in 2025. Kalani Sitake is scared of nobody, and neither are his coaches or players.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Forgive my excessive use of commas and parentheses. It’s 3:30 a.m., and I’m ranting.
And the reason I’m ranting is because I lived through the 4-9 2017 season and the 5-7 2023 season, along with a slew of other painful losses and seasons.
I occasionally write for
@TrueBlue_Cougar, and you can find more of my work there. I’d love more opportunities to cover the Cougs in different settings and expand my work with legitimate local media outlets.
And finally, I apologize if none of that made any sense. But again, thanks for reading, especially if you made it this far.
