A new partnership between True Spec and the ASU Men's Golf team provides access to custom club fitting services and a substantial NIL contribution. As part of the deal, the team will have access to True Spec’s full range of custom club fitting services, including ongoing tune-ups for loft and lie, gap analysis and regripping, but there’s another detail that makes the partnership the first of its kind: a substantial NIL contribution, which will be used to compensate participating ASU student-athletes. ASU’s 2026-27 roster includes nine players, five of whom are currently ranked in the top 60 in the WAGR (World Amateur Golf Ranking). The team is ranked second in Golfweek’s NCAA men’s golf pre-season ranking for this year, and is ranked fourth by Golf Channel. “We are so grateful to True Spec Golf for stepping up like this and supporting our program, both with their world-class club fittings and with their incredibly generous NIL contribution,” ASU men’s golf head coach Matt Thurmond said in the release. “We’re an elite program with a long history, but the competition increases every year, so having a local business like True Spec make this kind of investment in our team is invaluable, both for the current crop of players and for the recruitment of future players.”

I highly recommend that you go to a local golf shop and have them check the length, lie angles, and loft of each iron. Even though you custom ordered them, many times the clubs received do not match the specs that you ordered. This has happened to me many times and more specifically when built by the manufacturers. I have never had an issue when my local shop contact orders and builds them. Also, have never had an issue when Fairway Jockey built clubs for me.
