Orbital compute alone is a losing game near-term unless you have Starship. 10MW of solar + storage on the ground, no racks, buying every subsystem: ~$50M. Stick it in the desert, add Starlink, skip interconnect, EZ. To beat that from space you need 100 × 100kW sats for under $50M all-in. If you aren’t SpaceX, launch alone doesn’t close (yet). Bullish long-term on Elon’s 99.99% thesis, but near term this creates an incentive that is likely to accelerate market consolidation from LV to end service. If you already fly a profitable, power-hungry constellation, adding compute, power, and radiators starts to work. Dedicated compute sats are the only ones that show up at hyperscaler scale. Everything else is ad-hoc. Survival through the consolidation wave is winning, and the winners will be massive. @TurionSpace is in it to win it. 🫡 Should be an exciting next 5–10 years.

DROID.002 successfully executed a live on-orbit evasive maneuver during Exercise SALITRE 2026 in response to a simulated threat, marking the first time a commercial satellite has demonstrated the capability in a combined multinational exercise. The maneuver was coordinated with real-time alerts from the Joint Commercial Operations team, highlighting how commercial operators can contribute alongside government and international partners during complex space operations.
