seems like a good set of policies to help get more eligible people enrolled in (expanded) Fair Fares
This new system would:
✅ Require the Commissioner to notify eligible New Yorkers
✅ Require the Commissioner to obtain information necessary to notify additional New Yorkers who may be eligible for Fair Fares
✅ Require the Commissioner to report to the Council annually about enrollment and usage of the fair fares program
✅ Provide an option for eligible New Yorkers to consent to the use of information provided in their application
✅ Require the Commissioner to study the feasibility of establishing automatic enrollment in all city-administered benefits programs

All hell is breaking out at the Brooklyn Democratic Party’s organizational meeting as party brass charge forward filling county committee vacancies despite dozens of audience members voicing concerns about their votes not being counted, numerous misspellings and proxy issues.

Bruce Blakeman waved away the assertion that President Trump’s meeting with Mayor Zohran Mamdani Monday deflates his anti-socialism message:
“I have no problem with elected officials talking to each other,” Blakeman tells reporters.
Asked by @ragajus if he would accept an invitation to Gracie, if Mamdani extended one:
“Depends what he was serving for lunch,” Blakeman said.

Donald Trump will be the first president to visit Gracie Mansion in decades.
The last to do so was Ronald Reagan in 1981 when he presented a check to then-Mayor Ed Koch for the Westway project.
Jimmy Carter, John F. Kennedy and Harry Truman also visited during their tenures.
Trump and Mamdani got along famously well last year. This meeting, on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly, could be more tense.
