OMB proposed changes in May, allowing agencies to suspend or terminate grants that no longer advance agency priorities or the national interest. OMB cited spending on DEI initiatives & “anti-American ideologies.” Courts blocked DOGE from cutting such spending. 🧵2/10

1⃣The American Public Health Association got $22.3M from HHS. 2⃣The LGBTQ group SAGE got $1.9M from HHS. The National Council of Nonprofits teamed up w/APHA & SAGE in suing OMB in January 2025, seeking to block an OMB funding pause. 🧵4/10

3⃣The Northwest Immigrant Rights Project received $2.6M from the DOJ for assistance to "immigrant survivors." The project joined the Amica Center for Immigrant Rights in suing the DOJ for pausing DOJ programs to educate illegal aliens on the laws. 🧵5/10

4⃣The AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition received $16M from USAID. AVAC sued the State Department in Feb 2025, aiming to block an order temporarily freezing international aid spending. 🧵6/10

5⃣The Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Service received $30.3M in federal grants in 2022-2024. According to the Yale Daily News, IRIS was scheduled to receive $4 million in State Department contracts when Trump issued a stop-work order. 🧵7/10
