I had an incredible time touring University at Albany’s Emerging Technology and Entrepreneurship Complex (ETEC), where I got to see the State Weather Risk Communication Center, xCITE Lab, and the
@nysmesonet.
I had the opportunity to meet with experts and researchers in the fields of meteorology and atmospheric science and learn more about their critical work. The innovative research being conducted is both fascinating and essential to strengthening New York State’s capabilities in disaster preparedness and response. Thank you to Dr. Wang, Dr. Bassill, Dr. Thorncroft, Provost Carol Kim, Vice President Sheila Seery, Luke Rumsey, and others who welcomed me to ETEC for this amazing tour!
As climate change continues to be a major driver of extreme weather, the research being conducted at
@ualbany is pivotal to the future of predicting severe weather patterns and saving lives. I’m so proud that this important work is happening right here in Albany, NY!
