UDA Secretary General Sen. Hassan Omar Hassan joined fellow Muslim leaders at the National Muslim Leaders Convention 2026, a gathering convened to shape the community’s engagement with national policy, governance, and development.
Organised by the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) under the leadership of Hassan Ole Nadoo, the convention adopted a deliberate, proactive, and forward-looking approach to influencing policy at the national level.
Speaking at the event, Sen. Hassan urged the Muslim community to amplify and reciprocate the inclusive agenda of President William Ruto’s government.
He noted that the community had been incorporated proportionately across every sector, from security to finance to the Party, in a manner that promotes equity.
To consolidate the gains made under the UDA government, the convention resolved to establish a permanent consultative architecture that will leverage and expand opportunities for more Kenyans.
Cabinet Secretary for Health, Hon. Aden Duale, lauded SUPKEM’s leadership for its stewardship, as well as for its unwavering support for the re-election of President William Ruto.
Principal Secretary for the State Department for Science, Research and Innovation, Prof. Shaukat Abdulrazak reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the implementation of inclusive development programmes.
The deliberations brought together scholars, institutional and State-level leaders, Muslim legislators, senior civil servants, and business leaders.
Also present were Hon. Adan Keynan, MP for Eldas Constituency, David Ndii, Chairperson of the President’s Council of Economic Advisors, among others.
