Today we join Ukraine in honoring its rescuers on Ukrainian Rescuer's Day. Few countries have ever relied on its rescuers as much as Ukraine has been forced to since russia launched its full-scale invasion. Every day these brave men & women save lives that would otherwise be lost. They can never be thanked enough.

Your regular reminder: If the Russians stop fighting, the war ends. If the Ukrainians stop fighting, their land will be occupied, their leaders will be killed, their history and language will be erased, their children will be kidnapped to serve Russia.

This week alone, Russia launched around 2,100 drones against Ukraine – a significant share of them jet-powered “shaheds,” which the Russians are using in an attempt to cripple the economy and destroy people’s lives. The enemy also used nearly 1,700 guided aerial bombs and 78 missiles of various types. Last night and this morning, energy facilities, Ukrzaliznytsia, businesses, and ordinary residential buildings came under attack. Odesa was attacked with missiles and drones. Recovery efforts are ongoing in many western regions following the overnight strikes. In particular, all necessary services are working near the Polish-Ukrainian border in Volyn, where the Russians deliberately burned a train locomotive and damaged a gas station in a drone strike. It is precisely to prevent these strikes from spreading further into Europe that Ukrainian men and women fight every day, give their lives, and do not allow the aggression to expand. Russian terrorism is a common threat to many, but it definitely can and must be defeated in Ukraine. Imagine if your country was hit with this many munitions every day. It’s absolutely insane what Ukraine has been dealing with recently. All these drones & missiles over the last 24 hours.

Today marks 25 years since a terrorist act changed the course of world history. A senseless attack that claimed 2,977 innocent lives and triggered multiple wars in its aftermath. As a Ukrainian teenager at the time, I remember watching this horrific event unfold on TV. It felt distant, almost unreal. Today, Ukraine lives through terrorist acts on a daily basis. The russian terrorist state targets civilians, bombs hospitals, and destroys livelihoods. For Ukrainians, terrorism is not a memory of the past - it is the daily reality. We must always remember and honor the heroes of 9/11, as well as the heroes of Ukraine. It is in times of great adversity that we are called to stand together against evil in all its forms. God bless America, and glory to Ukraine!
