A chatter asks Hasan Piker why HE himself can't just pay the $25k that @UTAustin is absurdly charging for security fees. Hasan explained that not only does he speak at these college campuses for free and pay out of pocket for his travel, but it is a fee that the University is supposed to be covering innately. It is a needless hurdle that they are hurling at his event because Hasan is an anti-Zionist. Hasan also highlighted the fact that people like Ben Shapiro get paid to speak at these campuses from alumni and various organizations. Hasan does not get paid for any of his speeches or appearances. People never keep the same energy for Republicans.

Hasan Piker talked about the soft-cancelling of his event at @UTAustin. A chatter had mentioned in the chat that they got a refund for their ticket for the event, and Hasan explained that the university is being as difficult as possible. They have facilities on campus that can accommodate over 2,000 people, but are choosing to be difficult on purpose. Hasan has also received death threats that have blueprints and thorough planning depicting how people will try to assassinate him. It has been fucking unhinged.

We demand a fully independent, transparent, and thorough investigation into exactly what occurred. This violence must end. ICE has a record of acting with impunity and no regard for human dignity or life.
ICE cannot be reformed. It cannot be retrained. It must be abolished and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

When I look at this photo, I don’t see a “problem.” I see Longhorns celebrating together. I see joy, community, and the beautiful diversity of Texas.
I came to this country as an undocumented child. Years later, I proudly earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from UT. I know what it means to be judged by where you come from or how you look and I also know what it means to belong.
These students belong at UT. They belong in Texas. They are Texas. Our diversity is our strength.
We are the United States of America and there is no place here for racism or xenophobia.

UT Austin is failing to accommodate our event with @hasanthehun in an adequately large enough venue despite their own rules requiring them to do so:
“Should the size of any assembly exceed the maximum number of participants that is safe for a given location, including a reserved space, assembly participants will be directed by campus authorities to relocate to a space that is better suited to the size of the assembly to the extent relocation is practicable” - UT Rules, Chapter 13-902.4
There are multiple 2,000+ seat venues on campus available for use and yet the @UTAustin remains silent!
ted cruz, greg abbott ken paxton and now, henry cuellar have demanded that i have my speech at UT austin get cancelled. it's a public university. this is a direct violation of the 1st amendment. free speech must be protected. dems should push back against this attack!
