We were lucky enough to be visited by the @AHPS_UHCW Christmas Elf today. After a thorough language screen and dysphagia assessment, we're pleased to say he made a quick recovery with some therapy and compensatory swallowing strategies - he especially enjoyed the thickener 😂🧑‍🎄🎄

🚨 Speech and language therapy is not a luxury — it’s about prevention. Without investment, unmet needs lead to higher costs and a worse quality of life. That’s why we’re calling on the Govt to #InvestInSLT and publish its SLT Action Plan.

🚨 The issues affecting the SLT workforce have not happened by chance. They are the result of years of failed workforce planning and under-resourcing of services. So, the need to #InvestInSLT is critical as is the Govt’s SLT Action Plan.
