Happy World Teachers' Day! 🍎UMPI opened in 1903 as Aroostook State Normal School to train teachers in Aroostook County. From our first graduating class in 1905 to now, we celebrate the educators who got their start at UMPI and those who teach and inspire our students!

This September marks 80 years since Caroline Gentile first began teaching at UMPI! πŸ’›πŸ’™ Our longest-serving faculty member, Gentile taught at UMPI for 59 years. Today, her legacy lives on across campus, including with Gentile Hall, named in her honor.
