James Wilson was one of only six people to sign both the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. Born in Fife and educated at the Universities of St Andrews, Glasgow, and Edinburgh during the Scottish Enlightenment, he had a lifelong interest in the nature of political authority, representation, and individual liberty.
