OVER 260,000 TOTAL POUNDS OF COCAINE SEIZED IN OPERATION PACIFIC VIPER. Over the course of six days in the Eastern Pacific, the @USCG Cutter Tampa seized more than 25,000 pounds of cocaine in three interdictions, bringing the total amount of cocaine seized in Operation Pacific Viper to more than 260,000 pounds. Under the leadership of President Trump and @SecMullinDHS, we will continue to defeat the narco-terrorists and stop the flow of deadly drugs into our country.

USCGC Tampa’s (WMEC 902) boarding team and embarked aircrew interdicted a go-fast vessel hauling 6,800 pounds of cocaine. Four days later, they interdicted two more vessels carrying a combined 15,000 pounds of cocaine. The next day: Another go-fast vessel. Another 3,400+ pounds of cocaine seized. Approximately 9.5 million potentially deadly doses never reached American communities. Maintaining houses can mean maintaining neighborhood relationships, quality of life, and readiness. That’s why we’re investing $8.8M in renovations to 17 homes in the Montauk Springs Family Housing development. These homes for active duty @USCG members and their families, embedded within communities near Station Montauk, will receive upgraded roofing, wiring, flooring, and other exterior and interior improvements. Renovating existing housing allows Coast Guard members around Station Montauk to stay in their homes and neighborhoods, providing stability necessary for quality of life for our members and their families. The housing investment enhances quality of life and readiness of personnel assigned to Coast Guard missions on eastern Long Island, where the service has maintained a presence for more than a century. Ice experience cannot be surged. From Aug. 17 to Sept. 7, U.S. Coast Guard members sailed aboard NoCGV Svalbard in the Nansen and Amundsen Basins north of Svalbard, supporting an international deep-ocean observation campaign alongside the Norwegian Coast Guard. Phase 2 runs through Sept. 27. The work: recovering instrument moorings anchored two and a half miles down, where they spend a year recording ice, temperature, seafloor earthquakes, and acoustic pulses timed across an entire ocean basin. Recovery happens in shifting ice, on the ice's schedule. The reason: the Coast Guard is recapitalizing its polar fleet under the trilateral Icebreaker Collaboration Effort with Canada and Finland. Hulls are being built. The proficiency to operate them is a longer lead item, and it is only built at sea. The pattern behind it runs both ways: Norwegian officers with us during our 2025 Arctic patrol, USCGC Stone and NoCGV Hopen training together this July with Canadian and Finnish observers, and now our crews aboard Svalbard. Each rotation leaves both services with people who have stood a watch on the other's ship. Interoperability underway. Last week, @USCG accepted Fast Response Cutter Marvin Perrett in Key West, FL. This cutter is named for World War II veteran Marvin Perrett, a coxswain who piloted landing craft in both Atlantic and Pacific theaters, including invasions of Normandy and Iwo Jima. An advocate for educating about the Coast Guard’s role in WWII, Perrett received numerous accolades for both his valor and public service. The USCGC Marvin Perrett will be homeported in San Juan, Puerto Rico. #USCG #Fleet

A new space for Coast Guard kids! ⚓👶 A $30.5M contract was awarded to J.I. Garcia of Fresno, CA to build a new child development center at @USCG Base Alameda. This project will replace most of the existing center with an 18,930-square foot facility, including an outdoor play area, exterior improvements, and updated utilities. This project is an investment in our people, our families and our readiness. By nearly doubling the number of spaces for children at the center, this expansion will help meet demands for safe, reliable childcare at Base Alameda and nearby facilities. Getting Arctic ready in the Pacific Northwest! @USCG awarded a $173.7 million contract to the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company to modernize Base Seattle, strengthening the infrastructure needed to homeport and sustain the Service’s future polar security cutters. Part of a multi-year effort, this contract will add a new pier, structural enhancements, and utility and electrical upgrades. All of these will strengthen Base Seattle’s ability to homeport and maintain the cutters necessary for essential Arctic missions. As a Coast Guard reservist, Jeffrey Palazzo rescued dozens of people from the water when the cargo ship Golden Venture ran aground in 1993.    As a New York City firefighter, he gave his life to save others on Sept. 11, 2001.    On Sept. 12, 2026, @USCG commissioned its newest Fast Response Cutter, USCGC Jeffrey Palazzo (WPC 1163), in his honor, as well as the memory of all those who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11.    We are forever grateful.    We will never forget.    Read more here: news.uscg.mil/Press-Releases…
