We’re investing in a stronger electric grid so Coloradans can have lower cost and more reliable energy. This major $250 million grant we successfully fought for will strengthen the connection between Colorado and Texas, improve reliability, and help us meet growing electricity demand while saving people money. By strengthening Colorado’s electric grid and expanding our ability to share power with other regions, we can keep the power on more during extreme weather and periods of high demand while saving people money.

Colorado is the national leader in Electric Vehicle purchases, and part of that is because we are offering a convenient network of fast-chargers across the state. These new funds will build 270 more fast-charging ports at 35 different stations, meaning families in every corner of our state, from the Western Slope to the Eastern Plains, can make the switch to an EV, charge quickly, and save money. States and subnational governments are stepping up and leading at a time when the federal government is trying to dismantle U.S. climate policy. Linkage isn’t just good climate policy — it’s smart economics. Linking will unlock greater emissions reductions, lower the cost of clean technologies, and create good‑paying jobs in high‑growth industries. We’re excited to be moving forward.

It’s a deep point of pride that California is moving forward with the process of linking its Cap-and-Invest program to Washington’s carbon market, building on our existing partnership with Québec to cut emissions and toxic global pollution.
