For those asking me why do I derive joy from Manchester City being found guilty and how they'll be stripped off their titles, I'm sorry to announce to you that Manchester City has nothing over Olympic Marseille.
In the 1992/93 season, Marseille won the French league and the European Cup. However, following the bribery scandal involving the Valenciennes–Marseille match, Marseille were stripped of their 1992/93 French league title and subsequently relegated to the lower division.
They were also excluded from defending their European Cup title the following season.
Importantly, their European Cup itself was not stripped from them. The domestic title directly affected by the scandal was removed, while their European triumph remained.
So this isn't about Manchester City being a big club, generating huge revenue, or having millions of supporters.
If the rules provide for titles to be removed and relegation to be imposed following proven breaches, then those rules should apply regardless of the club involved.
Football cannot have one set of rules for powerful clubs and another for everyone else.
If the law says the title goes, the title goes. If it says relegation, then relegation. Simple. ✌️

Pep Guardiola’s legacy deserves a much deeper examination.
At Barcelona, his era was surrounded by the Negreira scandal and questions over the influence it may have had on the club’s success.
At Bayern Munich, the political and institutional controversies were less prominent, but they still formed part of the wider environment around his time there.
And at Manchester City, the club where he has spent the majority of his managerial career, 115 alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules remain a major issue.
When you put all three chapters together, serious questions about how we view Guardiola’s achievements and overall legacy are difficult to ignore.
