Congratulations to student team UTMBeach, co-led by captains GSBS students Kiyah Costin and Ryan Luib, on winning the Architectural Icon Award for their sand creation of UTMB’s Old Red! Congratulations to Adam "Moose" Trupp, a PhD student in our Neuroscience Graduate Program, for receiving a prestigious F31 predoctoral fellowship from the National Institutes of Health! Under the mentorship of Dr. Adelaide Micci, Moose's project, "Differential effects of brain-derived tau oligomers on neurogenesis in Alzheimer's disease and cognitively resilient individuals," aims to advance our understanding of Alzheimer's disease. We're incredibly proud of his excellent work, and we look forward to the impact his research will have.

Congratulations to Samantha "Gabi" Cody, PhD student in our Human Pathophysiology and Translational Medicine program, on her new NIH F31 fellowship! Gabi is a student in the laboratory of Dr. Tina Wang, and the title of her project is "Pellino 1 as a critical therapeutic target to mitigate ZIKV-induced postnatal cognitive dysfunction following congenital infection." They will share insights into their career paths, discuss the day-to-day responsibilities of working as a Clinical Trial Manager, and offer practical advice for trainees interested in clinical research and industry-facing scientific roles. Information about opportunities for trainees interested in pursuing CTM roles at Medpace will also be shared.
