I recently had the opportunity to join colleagues from across UTMB for the Faculty Recognition reception, hosted by @UTMBProvost, celebrating nine outstanding faculty members for their achievements and contributions to education, research, innovation and clinical care. Throughout the evening, we heard about faculty who are educating and mentoring the next generation, advancing research with impact beyond UTMB and finding new ways to improve patient care. As each honoree took the stage, one theme stood out to me: teamwork. Again and again, they acknowledged the colleagues, mentors, students and teams who have contributed to their work and success. It was a powerful reminder that while individual achievement deserves to be celebrated, meaningful progress is rarely accomplished alone. Our greatest impact comes from bringing together people with different expertise, perspectives and experiences around a shared purpose. Congratulations to all nine honorees on this well-deserved recognition and the impact you continue to make at UTMB and beyond.

Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming @UTSystem Regent Jodie Jiles to three of our UTMB Health campuses: Clear Lake, League City and Angleton Danbury.   Throughout the day, we toured our facilities and visited with the incredible team members who deliver exceptional care to our patients every day. From the ocean floor to outer space, @UTMB_Aerospace is preparing physicians for medicine in some of the most extreme environments. A new fellowship brings together undersea and hyperbaric medicine with aerospace medicine, two fields that explore how the human body responds to extraordinary physiological stress.
