This is absolutely shameful from Badenoch, and a total misrepresentation of what Suella Braverman said. Braverman’s basic view is that someone can be culturally English or British without being ethnically English, but that ethnic Englishness is an empirical reality and should be distinguished as such. Which is correct!
The idea that this poses some sort of danger to mixed-race kids is preposterous. What these denials actually do is antagonise the ethnic majority by denying their identity and ancestry in a political conversation increasingly dominated by the ethnic claims of minorities.
As the White population declines in size, that asymmetrical multicultural position is going to become increasingly unstable and untenable to maintain. The Tories are just totally dishonest in their denial on this issue. But are we surprised?
Theresa May supported the DEI Equality Act, and Badenoch never lifted a finger to get it repealed. She did bugger all in office to remove “identity politics” from our institutions. And yes, she personally lobbied for the Boriswave.
What a fraud.
