On the sidelines of the IMF World Bank Annual Meetings in Bangkok, I had the opportunity to meet with European Commission Director-General for Economic and Financial Affairs Maarten Verwey to discuss the U.S. and EU economic outlooks and shared economic priorities. We exchanged views on global economic developments, economic security, and opportunities to deepen transatlantic cooperation, including strengthening critical minerals supply chains.

Today, I joined Deputy Secretary Francis Brooke and Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh for a productive meeting with Korean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance and Economy Lee Hyung-il and Bank of Korea Governor Hyun Song Shin. Our four institutions exchanged views on economic and financial conditions in both countries and discussed opportunities to further strengthen U.S.-Korea economic and financial cooperation.

Our latest sanctions against the Sinaloa Cartel target 21 individuals and 25 entities, including cartel leaders, money launderers, and corrupt officials who enable these criminal operations. We are following the money, exposing illicit financial networks, and cutting off the economic lifelines that allow cartels to operate. There will be nowhere for these narco-terrorists or their money to hide. I joined @OANN to discuss Treasury’s efforts to dismantle these networks and protect Americans.
