.@cosmos, the week of 21 to 27 September. A governance exploit on Neutron sent part of the stolen ATOM to the Hub over IBC. The Hub itself was not hacked Validators halted the network for about 24.5 hours, restarted it on Gaia v28.3.0 and took 1,227,121 ATOM back from the attacker. About 500K had already been swapped out through THORChain Victims get paid only after a separate Hub governance vote Meanwhile, the Paxos funds were delivered, and Cosmos Labs joined LF Decentralized Trust alongside SWIFT and Wells Fargo

.@monad , the week of 14 to 20 September. Moose is in beta. @0xFastLane shipped a fully onchain aggregator: the route is chosen at execution time, on the chain itself, with no quote server in the path. The launch is confirmed, volume was not published. @aave published its receipts. 46 days in, the Monad market is the 3rd largest Aave deployment by fees and 5th by TVL at ~$321M. $318M borrowed against $659M supplied, $750k+ in fees since July, around $24k a week in protocol revenue. The security team ran an experiment on LLMs writing contracts. Telling a model to "be secure" barely moved the bug count. Putting a threat model in the prompt cut findings by roughly 43%. Also on the record: a Rain Cards interview on stablecoin payments, Blitz Paris, Blitz Mumbai V4 and the Metropolis Hacker House in Hangzhou, and a teaser that just said PRIVACY, SOON.

Monad, the week of 7 to 13 September DeFi TVL crossed $1B for the first time on 9 September and peaked at $1.035B on the 12th, up 4.8% on the week across 137 protocols. Spot set a record too: $513M of DEX volume in a single day on 8 September 37.97M transactions over seven days, a five-week high, at 62.8 average TPS But the other side of the ledger cooled. Active addresses 62,683, down 19.9%. New contracts 15,118, down 60.9%. MON went from $0.026 to $0.023 while TVL hit its all-time high Shipped: @monad API Hub, pay-per-request in USDC with no keys and no subscriptions, launching with Nansen, DefiLlama, ElevenLabs, Exa and Apify, then MiniMax. Ultrafuzz went open source. Arrived: 1inch with the full stack, o1 Exchange, Ledger MON staking, Drake Exchange perps, Glider, Rocket Markets, Murk in public beta Liquidity and infrastructure ran ahead of the crowd. That is the week

Lumera, the week of 10 to 16 September. @FalconXGlobal joined the validator set. 2,000+ institutional clients, over $2.5T in cumulative volume since 2018, now running a node. Voting power is 0.66%, so this is a signal, not control, and the team says more institutional validators are coming. The positioning got sharp too. Not a model host, not another agent framework, not a custodian of irreversible actions. What it is: durable, provable memory for agents, already live on mainnet through Cascade and Proof of Service, where a SuperNode is paid for real work and not just for stake. Anyone can run a model. Few can prove what it did. The network: 168,519 wallets, 1.62M transactions, 36.4 TB stored of 63.1 TB, 52.57% staked, 28 active SuperNodes, 98.72% uptime. And what did not ship: EVM mainnet. v1.20.3 was pulled for upstream Cosmos EVM security fixes. No exploit on @lumera , a deliberate pause, new proposal promised shortly.

Cosmos, the week of 7 to 14 September. @cosmos Partner Network went live with 17 partners, including BitGo, Galaxy Digital, OpenZeppelin and Blockdaemon. A ready-made stack for banks: tokenized deposits, 24/7 settlement, treasury. The same pitch went straight to the banks at Finovate Fall: sweeps, Tokenization Suite, settlement with no cut-off times. ethereum:0xa0b86991c6218b36c1d19d4a2e9eb0ce3606eb48 is leaving Noble. Minting stops 13 October, full pause 12 January 2027. Injective USDC is the new standard, migration via Skip:Go opened 11 September. The Hub halted 8 September at block ~32.8M and recovered within days. Ledger support for balances and ATOM sends was still broken on 13 September, use Keplr or Cosmostation. Proposal #1054 is on the ballot until 17 September: ~$300,740 one-off from the Community Treasury to put ATOM inside Paxos brokerage infrastructure. Two of those five are about banks. That is the direction.

Linera's $LNRA Community Round is over and it didn't hit its minimum. $848,271 committed against a $1.5M soft cap. 617 participants across 69 countries. Refunds are already done. Automatic, back to the same wallets that committed, no claim step. That part they handled cleanly. No new sale, TGE date or tokenomics change has been announced yet. The chain itself microchains, sub-second finality, gamified prediction markets is still being built. Watch @linera_io for what comes next

$989 million TVL on @monad . 175 protocols. @k3_capital $410 million (+27% per week). Next is @aave V3, @eulerfinance V2, @pendle_fi V2. Core lending ($861M on four protocols). Tree curators, Pendle holds point markets, RWA is already noticeable. Important: curators’ TVL overlaps with the protocols where they invest capital do not add it separately.

Validator vs Super Validator on @CantonNetwork the difference in one frame 680+ active validators. 13 SV nodes. A validator runs a participant node and its own slice of the ledger. A Super Validator runs that too, plus the Global Synchronizer sequencer and mediator and votes in the DSO: one SV, one vote, BFT quorum over two-thirds. Anyone sponsored can run a validator. You become a Super Validator only by governance vote.

A price feed tells you what an asset costs. It can't tell you who won an election, or whether some event actually happened. And that's the wall outcome markets keep hitting. These are event markets - they don't run on price, they run on facts about the real world. The catch is that every team launching one ends up rebuilding resolution from the ground up. Dispute processes, human reviewers, those optimistic setups where one person proposes an answer and everyone else gets a window to argue. Slow, and hopeless once you're running thousands of markets at the same time. This is the gap @GenLayer built the Intelligent Oracle for. What it does is fetch and verify any fact that lives on the open web, then hand back a result a market can actually settle on. If the answer sits somewhere at a URL, the oracle can go read it. The interesting part is how it stays honest. One validator gets picked at random, queries an LLM, and proposes an outcome. The rest don't just take its word - they run the same query through their own models and vote on what comes back. Nobody's checking for word-for-word matches either. They agree when the answers mean the same thing, and what falls out the other end is something verifiable instead of one model guessing. None of this is on a whiteboard, by the way. There's a live benchmark running against Polymarket right now, and the Intelligent Oracle clears 97.2% of addressable markets - matching Polymarket's own call on every single one it resolves. 100% agreement across the resolvable set. So what changes when any market can resolve itself, automatically, at the speed a machine trades?

A fast blockchain isn't only about how quickly it executes transactions. The block also has to reach every validator fast - and that's usually where things slow down. @monad handles this with RaptorCast, a protocol that gets a block from the leader out to every validator in two hops, no matter how big the block is or how many validators there are. Now there's an upgrade coming to it called Deterministic RaptorCast. The old way, a validator had to wait around for the whole block to assemble before it could vote. With the upgrade, it just needs to check one piece and that's enough. So here's the rough idea. A block gets split into lots of encoded pieces, and in the new version every piece sits under one shared fingerprint - a Merkle root. As soon as a validator checks a single piece against that fingerprint, it already knows exactly what the leader locked in, so it can go ahead and vote. The other pieces can still be on their way. And that's where the speed comes from. Decoding the block isn't holding things up anymore. The next leader gets to start collecting votes and putting together the next block while pieces of the last one are still flying around the network. Block time no longer hangs on how long the full block takes to move. There's a second thing the upgrade fixes. The leader used to have some freedom in how it encoded a block, and that freedom could be abused. Now there's exactly one correct encoding each round, and every validator can work it out for itself. The leader has nothing left to game - it can't quietly slow the network for some validators or slip different people pieces of different blocks. Faster and safer, and both come out of the same design choice.

Just attended Canton Builder House #2 - Daml 101 Recap (video + text summary): unitynodes.notion.site/Build… Here's what you need to know if you're building on @CantonNetwork: 🔹 New docs dropped → docs.canton.network Single source of truth. Built with MCP & AI support. "Canton for Ethereum devs" section is 🔥 🔹 No wallet addresses here Identities on Canton are parties, not addresses. Privacy enforced at smart-contract level - not bolted on. 🔹 Why Daml (not Solidity) Daml natively expresses WHO can see, WHO must sign, WHO can act. Solidity simply can't do this out of the box. 🔹 Core concepts: • Template = contract blueprint • Choice = function with auth rules • Signatory = required authority • every state change = new contract instance 🔹 Tools to try: → Seaport by 5North - browser Daml playground ("Remix for Daml") → Connect with Loop Wallet → write .daml → deploy

Most decentralized applications still depend on centralized infrastructure for persistent data - AWS S3, Google Cloud Storage. Logic runs on-chain, data lives in the cloud. That's not really decentralization. @lumera and Injective closed that gap through an IBC integration. Now any dApp on Injective can store data permanently on Cascade - Lumera's decentralized storage module. Payment works in $INJ or $LUME. How it works technically - an Injective dApp calls the Cascade API, uploads data, and gets back a permanent content identifier. That identifier can be stored on-chain as a reference, used in smart contracts, or shared publicly. Cross-chain mechanics are abstracted away - from the developer's side it's just a storage call. What builders can actually store today: NFT metadata and media - instead of IPFS where pinning can lapse or centralized object storage. Ownership on-chain, content on Cascade. On-chain proof records - audit trails, execution logs, compliance records with cryptographic proof of storage, not just a promise. DeFi application data - orderbook snapshots, historical price data, trade history stored off-chain on Cascade with on-chain references, keeping Injective's execution layer clean. User files and application state - documents, credentials, persistent state without building or renting centralized storage infrastructure. Cascade guarantees permanence through economic incentives - nodes that store data correctly earn rewards, nodes that fail audits get slashed. No single company to subpoena, no datacenter to take offline. Sense and Inference - Lumera's next modules - are planned to integrate with Injective shortly after.

Here's the thing about smart contracts - they're great at following rules, terrible at making calls. Did the freelancer actually do good work? Did the claim check out? Did this DAO vote align with what the protocol actually stands for? Traditional blockchains have no idea. They were never built for that. @GenLayer is. The way it works is through something called Optimistic Democracy. And honestly, the name kind of says it all. Say you've got a flight delay insurance contract. Claim comes in. A randomly picked validator pulls the flight data straight from the source and calls it. Other validators do the same thing on their own - no peeking at each other's answers - and then they compare. Most of them agree? Done. Claim goes through. But here's where it gets interesting. The decision doesn't lock in immediately. There's a window where anyone can look at it and say that's wrong - and put money behind it. You're right, you get rewarded. You're wrong, you lose the bond. That's it. That's what keeps the whole thing honest. Not some governance committee. Just skin in the game. If someone does challenge it, a bigger group of validators takes a fresh look. Can go multiple rounds. Eventually something sticks - and once it does, it's permanent. GenLayer is building the layer where agreements can actually check themselves against reality. Once people start building on that - it gets really interesting really fast.
