It's a victory for all of us. We fought the Elephant and Casle Shopping Centre application and lost by one vote. The @ACAPeckham @ShapeCoalition1 @PeckhamVision @35percent_EAN campaigners learnt from our struggle and took it to the next level. You are inspirational.

For at least a decade we've been building #TheWrongHousing in London - a lost opportunity to address our housing crisis- its no surprise long-term vacancy has more than doubled, homelessness risen and Temporary Accommodation costs push councils to the brink and wreck lives
Prices for 'Elephant Quarter' build-to-rent flats (ex Shopping Centre) were pulled from website after adverse publicity. New monthly rent:
➡️ Studio was £2610 now £2700
➡️ 1-bed w £3100 now £2880
➡️ 2-bed w £3810 now £3465
➡️ 3-bed w £5010 now £4555

Taking down the racist myths pedalled by Farage. Well done @PeteApps
Migrants didn't cause the housing crisis.
Nigel Farage’s housing policy is a racist misrepresentation of what social housing is and who gets it

Local democracy is under threat.
Elected councillors are about to lose their say over the communities they represent.
More decisions behind closed doors. Less say for local people.
Labour should be giving communities more power, not taking it away.

Cllr James McAsh (now Green Party, formerly Labour cabinet member) has been elected as leader of Southwark Council. Begins by joking in the space of the last 12 months he's been elected as leader by all three parties represented on the council!
