The first thing you notice about Dale Smith will be "Oh, he's talking to me." He has an incredible presence without even uttering a word, but to hear him go off on something is a real roller coaster. For years I had an idea based on my grandpa, who I realized was going to the supermarket every day not to get anything in particular but just to fart around and chat with people. I then thought about the service industry and how much care work one has to do for very little money. Dale seemed like a perfect fit for this idea and he was game to collaborate. He shared so much of himself, both hilarious and heartbreaking. Watch the film Trammel:
