Appy Robotics is building around a simple idea: If humans already know how to perform a physical task, we can capture demonstrations of that task and turn them into structured data for robotics development. The infrastructure around that process is what we're building.

The goal isn't to collect videos for the sake of collecting videos. The goal is to collect demonstrations of physical work. That distinction drives how we're designing Appy Robotics.

If you're recording for Appy Robotics, keep the camera focused on the task. We need to clearly see: What you're interacting with. What you're doing. How the action is performed. How the task ends. Simple recordings are often the most useful.

New submissions are coming in and our verification pipeline is getting more real-world testing every day. Every edge case helps us improve the process. We’re focused on building a verification system that can separate useful task recordings from footage that doesn't belong in the dataset.

A robot needs to understand actions, not just objects. Seeing a towel is one problem. Understanding how a person grabs it, folds it, adjusts it, and places it is another. Appy Robotics is collecting the human demonstrations that help capture those interactions

We’re continuing to improve Appy Robotics from the data pipeline up. Submission quality, verification, task coverage, and how approved recordings are organized all matter. The product is live. Now we keep making the system better.

We’re paying contributors because real-world physical data has value. A short recording can capture a sequence of movements and interactions that would otherwise be expensive and difficult for robotics teams to collect. The contributor gets rewarded. The ecosystem gets more data.

Robots will eventually have to work in environments that aren't perfectly controlled. Homes. Warehouses. Factories. Kitchens. Workshops. Training for that world requires data from that world. That’s the direction Appy Robotics is pursuing.

More verified videos are now appearing on the Appy Robotics platform. We want contributors to be able to see that their recordings are becoming part of an actual growing dataset. Still early. Still building.

Same task, different person. Different movement. Different environment. Different object. Different execution. That variation is exactly why real-world data matters for physical AI.

The interesting part of Appy Robotics isn't the upload button. It’s what happens after the upload. Submission → validation → verification → approved data. We’re building that pipeline to handle real-world task recordings at scale.

If you’re contributing to Appy, record something real. Don’t upload downloaded videos, reused footage, or random clips. The objective is to capture genuine human activity that can contribute to robotics data. Real task. Real recording. Real contribution.

Another batch of submissions is going through review. Verification takes time because we’re checking whether the recording actually contains a usable task and meets the required quality. We’d rather verify fewer useful clips than approve random footage.

Physical AI needs more than images of objects. It needs to see how humans interact with them. How we pick something up, move it, rotate it, place it, fold it, clean it, and manipulate it. That’s the type of real-world data Appy Robotics is collecting.

Appy Robotics is live and we’re continuing to improve the pipeline. Submissions are coming in, videos are being reviewed, and verified clips are being added to the platform. The early stage is about getting the fundamentals right before scaling.

A useful robotics dataset starts with useful recordings. Clear task. Stable camera. Visible interaction. Real environment. We’re continuing to refine Appy’s verification process around exactly these requirements.

We’re working on expanding the range of tasks available on Appy Robotics. The objective isn’t simply to collect more videos. It’s to build broader coverage of human physical activity that can eventually be useful for robotics research and development.
