Horse racing, ratings and finding value. Creator of VBG Race Cards, VB Ratings & Bet Finder. Now available FREE on iOS & Android. Gordon Boyce | Founder of VBG.

After months of development, the Value Betting Guide is now available as an app on iOS and Android. I’ve spent years developing my own approach to racing analysis, built around one principle: price the race first, then compare it to the market. That’s the thinking behind VBG. The app brings together my VB Ratings, interactive Race Cards, live exchange prices, Value Scores, Data Centre and Bet Finder, alongside daily racing analysis and selections. It’s designed for racing enthusiasts who enjoy getting into the form, studying the numbers and finding their own betting opportunities. And for now, it’s completely FREE while we build our first community of users. I’d love people to give it a try, explore the tools and let me know what they think. iOS: apps.apple.com/gb/app/value-… Android: play.google.com/store/apps/d…

Cutting it fine today with the first of today’s two bets from me being Giant Haystacks in the 12.00 at Naas. My nap runs a bit later this afternoon at Ffos Las. My preview and reasoning is now live on the website and app. valuebettingguide.co.uk/news…

On to Southwell for two interesting bets in the last two. Using the Bet Finder tool I concentrated on handicappers who have been outrunning their odds, sit near the top of the VB ratings and offer great +EV scores. I’m playing them as singles and an EW double…..

Quick fire Patent from the Bet Finder tool with three top rated chasers running who all sit high on the value scores…..

I’ve got a very small stake EW Lucky 31 picked out for Southwell today using filters on our Bet Finder tool. Looking outside the box a bit for horses at decent odds who still came in well on our value scores….

First picks off the Bet Finder tool for today are at Doncaster. A tight 8 runner nursery, then two big fields where there’s extra places on offer. Aidan O’Brien and Ryan Moore team up with an interesting outsider in the former….

My main bets are up for today on the website and app. I do suspect I may put a few more fun bets on using the Bet Finder tool on the app which I’ll share on here throughout the afternoon 😀 valuebettingguide.co.uk/news…

Two bets from our Scottish football expert this weekend. George has found a corners based angle in the stats for tonight’s Fife derby, then his main bet is a 6/1 goals four-fold across the weekend. See his preview and bets here: valuebettingguide.co.uk/news…

Happy to continue the strong start to the jumps season with 10/1 and 3/1 (nap) winning so far for today out of three bets. Hoping Marble Sands can round off a great day now 😀
After a good-priced winner over fences in Ireland yesterday, all four of my bets go chasing today. I like Marble Sands at double-figure odds in one of Aintree’s feature races as well as a few others at Hexham and Fontwell. Hate it when some real life news happens that gets in the way of my racing and football timeline. Algorithm…. Please stop messing with my updates. Many thanks. Oh, and while I’m at it, can you cancel off these £1 for the Racing Post tweets that are there all the time. Thanks again.

I have zero context behind this clip but I see it 4-5 times a year and never skip it. Cracks me up every time. 😆😆
Today marks exactly 10 years since Hacker T. Dog delivered the greatest unscripted line in British television history. "We're just normal men... We're just innocent men."

I for one am happy with this. Fred one of the worst out there for restricting accounts from genuine punters over the years. Also feels like their recent approach has been hugely anti-racing with a sprinkle of gaslighting on top. Latest pre tax profit of £64m from turnover just shy of £1bn. Racing can do better than hang onto these coattails…..
Last week's budget has had its first major impact on British racing with the news that Betfred are set to end their sponsorship of the five British Classics 🔗 racingpost.com/news/industry…

Today’s blog on the VBG is a short one about how I combine data with race replays, pace and conditions when studying handicaps. It’s the part of the process I enjoy most, and after over two decades of practice, why I’m still learning. Read “Where the Figures Meet the Form” on the VBG website or in the app’s Magazine (free on the App Store and Google Play) valuebettingguide.co.uk/news…

I ran a range of filters on the Bet Finder tool this morning that included: - Strong +EV on my AltVal scale - Top two on my VB Ratings - Good Runners Beaten Index scores in the Data Centre - Class 4 or 5 AW handicaps It revealed these three runners who may warrant a further look as potential value plays for today….

After some requests, I’ve recorded a quick video tour of the VBG App to show some of the key features, including our Bet Finder tool, using the data-driven race cards including the Value Generator and a quick look at the magazine. The app is free to download on the App Store and Google Play.

Cracking day’s racing. Plenty for the Bet Finder to get stuck into. After yesterday’s 12/1 winner, I’ve picked four today. The nap and longshot return from breaks and both look particularly underestimated in the market to me. Happy with this one, nice wee 12/1 poke 😀
Quite keen to see Superstylin back over fences this afternoon. Goes well fresh and looks interesting on my figures. Might be the time to catch him at a decent price. Rogue Citation gets the Nap tonight. Full preview in the VBG app, free to download on the App Store. valuebettingguide.co.uk/news…

I’ve had a drill down on the filters in the VBG Bet Finder to identify a fun ew Lucky 15 for the afternoons jump racing. Selected 14 filters which narrowed the 317 runners for the day down to 4 qualifiers. Filters I used included handicap races, top 3 on VB ratings, +EV scores on my value scores, parameters for field sizes and odds range, good RBI score and others. This is the four qualifiers……

Today’s blog in the VBG examines my VB Ratings and how best to use them in form study. A bit about tissue prices, form study and the decision on what to back, and what to leave alone. You’ll find it in the Magazine section of the VBG app and on the website. Why a Rating Starts the Discussion.... Link: valuebettingguide.co.uk/news…
