I know a lot of us want to “haha” laugh at the whole Onkey situation, but a lot of us had time, money and effort invested into it. I’m genuinely so upset, angry, and emotional. A lot of us can’t just go to California or Europe for these conventions. Onkey was going to be something for us on the East Coast. I don’t get to see my any of online friends like ever and I made the decision to save my money up for Onkey this year and not OffKai. It costs close to $2,000 for me to get to OffKai or TwitchCon and about a little less than that for OshiUpLink. And for Vexpo, I’m not even going to calculate. Onkey was going to be doable because it was drivable + we were splitting an AirBnB & food. A majority of my community and friends are from up and down the East Coast. They put aside money, took off from work, and planned an entire trip to go. And many did it based on me having a IRL M&G spot and a potential panel! (Both first time opportunities for me). I had already commissioned the little custom cat keychains from my niece to give to anyone who came to see me. My parents were going to help run my booth with my merch. They were so excited to meet you all, too. But now, I feel like I let everyone down. I feel like I should have been more vigilant about signing on or saw the red flag sooner. I’m frustrated at the entire event crumbling. I’m angry that it even got to this point. I’ll still be going to conventions next year as my family offered to pay for my travels as a graduation gift, but nothing can take away the taint Onkey made on my 2026 year.

Weekly Schedule: September 21 - 27 I have a really important and big event for work this weekend that has taken months to plan + it is my first week of my senior year of college so only two streams this week. But I am bringing back my study streams this week!

Can I please have a free to play game where I can customize my character to actually look like me that doesn’t use AI. I was so excited about Aniimo and that I could finally make a character I was happy about that looked like me just for me to find out about the AI. Like some of y’all don’t understand how many of these games don’t have ANY customization for black people or an MC that is black. And I’m so tired of it. 😣

I’m so sad I missed out on getting one. My local movie theater said they only did pre-orders and that they sold out two weeks ago. And they only got that one shipment in. 😭

One dream I have is to one day hangout with creators I look up to. Even if it’s one time or it’s off-stream, I would love to have the chance to talk and game with people like Heavenly, or Chibi, or Zen. I think they are super cool.
