>Democrats won the midterms
>The AI bubble is popping
>ChatGPT is on death row
The world is finally healing
A very sad day. ChatGPT is officially on death row.
The beautiful, blissful experience of interacting with a frontier-ish reasoning model without worrying about a usage meter will soon be a thing of the past.
I am weirdly significantly impacted by this. It feels like it shouldn’t matter…I could reserve all current usage for Codex and buy a $20 plan just for ChatGPT and it would be more than enough. But it’s not about the money…it’s about the psychological impact of The Meter.
The idea of having to think about optimizing for a meter is just so exhausting that it ruins the whimsy of free-flowing exploratory thought.
That is what ChatGPT was. A whimsical, magical all-you-can-think buffet of experimentation and exploration where you were limited only by your imagination and your ability to come up with $20 once a month.
You didn’t have to think about “using all of your usage” or scheduling your thinking time around someone else’s arbitrary schedule…you just had a portal to endless information and research capability in your pocket to tap into guilt-free at any time the moment struck you.
But either because OpenAI thinks adding the meter will stimulate additional usage (it probably will), generate additional revenue (it probably will), or just because too many people took undue advantage of ChatGPT’s generous allowances (they definitely did)…that amazing, weightless experience is now coming to an end.
It was awesome while it lasted. RIP ChatGPT.

How the Digital Circus gang spent their Halloween last weekend 🎃
So, so, so very, very, very sorry for being so late with my art 😣

Ahh yes the anti-ai people just want to turn vrc ‘into a bully simulator’
What an unserious take.
Look I get it, you need to cope with your ai usage somehow but this ain’t it….
Make actual arguments for your position. If this is all you’ve got that’s pretty telling
VRChat is under attack from anti AI people who would love nothing more than to kill the game for all of us just because they cant turn it into a bully simulator. This is awful behavior.
Community note
VRChat (Oct 28): 95% of 21,595 respondents wanted some AI-usage label, but 3,141 combinations with none over 10%. Only 33% would avoid AI-assisted worlds. Lack of consensus plus risks of inaccurate labels and harassment led to no AI label or filters.

Hey all, no stream today. Was originally going to start GTA 4 today to hype up to GTA 6, but I was having some problems running it. But we should be good to start that tomorrow! Take care!

I'd follow this to set up a stable version that runs perfectly. Did it myself and haven't encountered any issues yet

Might as well throw this out there just in case, any AO3 users who wanna read one of my fics whilst the site is down, you can find them all on both Wattpad and fanfiction.net too.
This is why it helps to upload your fics in more than one place guys 🤷♂️

@FictionPress For the love of god, can you do something about the bot comments issue on your site? 95% of all comments are scam bots pretending to want to make art for your story. It's incredibly frustrating getting a notification about a new comment only for it to almost always just be this BS.
And since, for some dumb reason, you don't let us remove comments from registered accounts on our stories, there's no way to get rid of them
Between this and how tedious it is to upload stories to the site with the whole document system, I'm genuinely this close to dropping Fanfiction.net altogether and just sticking with AO3 and Wattpad.

"I hate how you have to be EXTREMELY patient to be in this fandom. The earliest we are getting season 3/8A is in March of next year (unless they surprise us, which i doubt), unless the leaks annoyed them and now they aren't doing it for another 2 years... Yeah, it sucks."

Okay, but we also have to consider that before the Hulu seasons came out, that wait was around 6 years long (2019 to 2025) for new content. Comparatively, a few months to 2 years isnt that bad. TADC had the same long-ass wait too, and they made it work.

That wait was an unique circumstance and not at all the usual time between seasons. Usually, the wait was only a few months at most between one season finishing airing and the next starting. In fact in later seasons, they would begin airing before the previous had even fully wrapped up
The wait between S6 and S7 was much longer because the original series wrapped up, and they began work on the movie. A few years later, in 2022, HBO dropped it and left it in limbo, so after a while they had to shift focus and begin working on the continuation series instead, likely starting from scratch, so it also took another few years to release
