Rats are naturally very clean animals.
They lick their paws and use them to wash their faces, ears, and eyes. They lick and nibble through their fur to remove dirt and loose hairs, while their teeth work like tiny combs to keep their coat clean. They also use their hind feet to scratch and clean areas they canโt easily reach.
Rats groom themselves regularly throughout the day to keep their bodies clean and their fur healthy.
Fun fact: A ratโs whiskers can move independently, allowing it to โscanโ its surroundings almost like a tiny radar system. i love him whiskers sooooo cute ๐ฅฐ ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ
The oldest rat Iโve ever witnessed- Star.
The retired dwarf buck who sired almost all of the dwarves Iโve had.
We took him in when the breeder stopped breeding for retirement because we had several of his offspring.
He is approaching 5.
Don't harm opossums! Theyโre harmless and actually really helpful. They keep pests under control by eating ticks, roaches, rats, and scorpions, clean up dead animals, and even help spread seeds. Basically, theyโre natureโs cleanup crew
