Letting Flanagan write a hard R body horror movie inside DC is the smartest small bet Gunn has made so far.

once you realized how good the director was (one of the best Black Mirror episodes ever + coming off a hit with Speak no Evil) and they got Flannagan on the script, you realized that this was going to be a critical hit

The first reactions for Supergirl compare the new DCU movie to Mad Max instead of Superman, “Not at all what I was expecting” 👀 Read more ⬇️ comicbook.com/movies/news/fi…

This movie is not going to make as much money as people think even if it’s somehow makes $30 million. It’s opening weekend is there really an audience that’s going to go and see it I’ll go back a second time this movie only cost 40 million to make.

But there is no way this movie is going to make over 150 million at the domestic box office perhaps 100 million worldwide. It will be a success, but can you honestly say that DC is doing a good job so far?

Hard R on a DC villain lead is a rare swing. First reactions calling it freakishly awesome track with how loud Clayface has been.

This is something Feige and Marvel should really try and cross over into, an R Rated horror/supernatural film. They have some of the best properties to experiment with, ManThing/X-Statix/Mdcap/Skinless Man/Freak/Carl King/Styx. I really wish they would adapt some of these.

DC body horror that actually commits is rare. Waiting-room pick: The Fly (1986) — Cronenberg makes the transformation the whole movie, not a set piece.
