Large amounts of Saharan dust have been continuously spreading over the Atlantic for several weeks, and the situation is expected to remain much the same next week (see video or map ventusky.com/air-quality-map…). 🧐 Such a prolonged and intense transport of Saharan dust over the Atlantic has not occurred in recent years. 🏜️ This is also one of the reasons why no hurricane has formed in the Atlantic so far this season.

📌A strong temperature contrast is affecting the Balkans today, with much colder air over the northwest meeting significantly warmer air farther east and south. For now, this is more of a meteorological curiosity - the GFS model suggests that a tropical cyclone could reach as far as Los Angeles in about a week. 😳🧐 However, such a scenario is very rare.
