a grand spectacle. an emotionally devastating human drama. absolute horror. the godzilla fan in me has tears flowing down her eyes. as enthralling as it is horrifying. it is still one of the franchise’s best upon rewatch. top 5, easily. i genuinely need to see minus zero NOW.

i went my entire life without having ever seen this until today. it’s pretty good. spielberg’s style unfortunately overpowers hooper’s, but nevertheless, this works well as a gateway for new horror fans. unexpectedly dark for a PG-rated horror movie, which i find kinda funny.
