Critical pro wrestling fan. Calling out hypocrites, tribalist fans, and wrestling "journalists" since 2021. Not a Dave Meltzer puppet.

Tell me again how AEW is "real pro wrestling" and not "sports entertainment." Aubrey counting it as a pin makes it 10x goofier and an even bigger eyeroll. This is the same sports entertainment that AEW fans claim to be against, when WWE does it. Two sides of the same coin. (1/2)

This is on par with the Sami Zayn-Gingerbread Man and JD McDonagh-Funko Pop stuff. It's just as bad of a comedy spot as most of what Danhausen does. Personally, it doesn't matter whether it's AEW or WWE doing it. I have no use for any of it. Get it all off my TV. (2/2)

I don't understand where people got the idea I think they're all homegrown WWE talent from. I never once said they were, because I know they're not. The majority established their names elsewhere. I said they were all on the WWE roster this past January, which is true. (1/3)
Tommaso Ciampa, The Motor City Machine Guns, Kofi, Austin Creed, and now seemingly Ilja Dragunov all signed to one company. Do you really want AEW to be an alternative, or do you just want to watch WWE from this past January?

Kofi is 100% a WWE guy. I'd argue Austin Creed as well. He was there more than 5x as long as he was ever in TNA, and his NJPW stint was a cup of coffee. Ciampa made his name in ROH, but I doubt Tony Khan only signed him for a 4-year body of work from over a decade ago. (2/3)

MCMG's legacy is in TNA, but they've done some good work in ROH and NJPW. WWE was just a pit stop. Dragunov made a name in wXw, but that's a promotion you have to actively seek out to watch. It's easy to have not seen it. Now, can we stop putting words in my mouth? (3/3)

“We are SO back.” If a good chunk of the fan base never admits fault with the AEW product and accuses all criticism of being in bad faith, what is there to be back from? Similarly, how can the feeling be restored if you never say it went away? Makes no sense. (1/2)
Ilja Dragunov is officially going to AEW. We are SO back.

Also, I’ve never understood using the term “We” and the parasocial relationships some fans have with wrestling promotions. You don’t work there. You likely don’t know anyone who does, nor do they know you exist. You’re a fan. The show goes on, even if you’re not watching. (2/2)

No. AEW isn’t going to put WWE out of business. They can’t beat Raw or SmackDown in viewership, nor can they regularly sell out arenas in North America. Even if you like these particular free agent signings, they’re not going to tip the scales one way or the other. (1/3)
they are literally on the way to being the first ever company to KILL WWE. they just need to showcase there women’s division more and they desperately need a brand split.

You know who could kill WWE, though? TKO. They do a better job of turning me off of the WWE product than AEW does. Never-ending advertisements and celebrity cameos, Triple H’s predictable booking, risking the safety of their wrestlers in Saudi Arabia. Where do I start? (2/3)

I get that it’s a business, but they run the risk alienating wrestling fans by trying to win over a casual fan base that doesn’t exist anymore. Besides, why do you want WWE to go out of business? AEW was created to prevent a monopoly and to give wrestlers and fans options. (3/3)

Remember when, last Saturday, AEW announced the card for this week's Dynamite/Collision and fans complained that it was too predictable? After watching last night's show, I'd be willing to bet 99.99% of fans went 5-0 with their Clockwork Carnage qualifier predictions. (1/2)

You could've taken the last few months off from watching AEW, and still told me that it would be Okada, Ricochet, Darby, Takeshita, and Cope advancing. That's how obvious it was. Tony Khan could've pulled one upset to keep things unpredictable, but no. Booking by numbers. (2/2)

Why is Kofi acting like the words "wrestler" and "wrestling" are still banned from WWE TV? They haven't been in what, 4 years now? Since Vince initially retired in August 2022, the words "wrestling" and "wrestler" have been said just about every week on WWE TV.

As good as FTR and MCMG are, I have no interest in seeing a Best of 5 series between them. It’s just lazy booking to eat up 2 months’ worth of programming. It’ll go 5. The matches will be good, but there are only so many spots you can do between the same opponents. (1/2)

Plus, when you have such a big roster, why limit yourself to having to use the same 4 guys every single week? I’d love to see someone not currently being used on TV get a chance to showcase their skills. MCMG have plenty of fresh matchups. Why limit them to just FTR? (2/2)

Oh, look. Tony Khan finally remembered the Motor City Machine Guns exist. I get that their band was on tour, but why debut them when you did? AEW rushed the debut with no way to keep the momentum going. #AEWDynamite

How come nobody is talking about AEW fumbling Konosuke Takeshita? Having him go from The DCF to The Conglomeration is certainly… a choice. A guy of his talents should be in the upper midcard/main event scene, not just stable fodder. #AEWDynamite

P.S. Let’s put it this way. If WWE had a guy as over and talented as Takeshita jump from stable to stable, many of you would be calling for their heads. You’ve called for their heads over less. Since it’s Tony Khan/AEW, however, they can apparently do no wrong.

2027 will be Adam Copeland’s last year. Let me guess, another year of him not putting anybody over. I liked the guy during his original WWF/E run, but who has he realistically put over since coming out of retirement in 2020? #AEWDynamite
