Even an openly gay Atlantic writer is now FED UP with LGBTQ virtue signaling. And he’ll probably get canceled for saying this. On Bill Maher, James Kirchick spent 2 full minutes warning that “queer extremism” is DESTROYING support for gay marriage, and he actually nails it. Gallup shows support for same-sex marriage is sliding, and among Republicans, it’s CRATERING. Social issues almost never reverse like this: Overall: 71% (2022) → 65% (2026) Republicans: 55% (2021) → 37% (2026) Independents: 77% (2022) → 67% (2026) This isn't a "tolerance" problem. It's a "leave me and my kids alone" problem. Nobody needs to hear who you sleep with.

A lot of people expected that after gay marriage was legalized there would be all of these happy gay families all over. But what ended up happening is that very few gay men ended up in long-term relationships, and most gay men who are in long-term relationships are in open relationships. lesbian couples all turned out to simply be man-hating weirdos, and the whole "were just like everybody else" thing turned out to be 100% deceptive propaganda. I actually know several gay men who hate most other gay men. The entire LGBTQ community is saturated with mental illness and highly toxic.

@BriannaWu has been saying this for a LONG time, because it is TRUE. People should be free to act however they wish in their own personal lives with dignity and respect and those suffering from true gender dysphoria should have access to care. BUT, men "identifying" as women, with fully functioning male anatomy in womens safe spaces like locker rooms, prisons, and shelters, is INSANE. Force feeding CHILDREN a queer agenda is irresponsible and taking away parental rights is morally bankrupt. Men in women's sports is simply unfair and erases the benefits of Title IX for girls. These views cross party lines and are held by the MAJORITY of the country, but are being drowned out by extremists. That is a trend which applies to a wide range of issues these days...

I wouldn’t use the word “even,” considering that The Atlantic routinely positions itself against the far left of myriad issues.

Im a gay person for palestine. I know they'd throw me off a building in gaza just for being gay, but the internet told me to support them, so I do. Suicidal empathy is through the roof.

So he’s normal gay and gets it. Sexuality is nothing to be celebrated regardless of what one’s preference is. Public displays of affection and open lewdness has always been frowned upon, even when it’s between a hetero couple. Keep what you do and who you do it with behind the closed door of your home. It’s called being “intimate” because it’s close personal time with one’s partner. Not displaying what kink one is into or with whom they are into it with so it’s everyone’s business. No one really cared who someone slept with until it was shoved in everyone’s faces constantly, forced upon the kids, talked about in schools, in every other commercial/ad you see, flying flags for whatever end of the alphabet mafia. Now, everyone is fatigued with it. It went from just wanting tolerance and acceptance to demanding participation and celebration.

Being gay has so little to do with my life anymore. I live surrounded with family with my longtime companion of 25 years. We don't go to gay bars, or gay anything. We live in a family friendly community and are roundly accepted and treated like everyone else. Our life is virtually indistinguishable from an older heterosexual couple, minus the grandchildren, unfortunately. I'm noticing my internal dialogue turning against the queer political project. It's an annoyance bordering on distaste. The weird part I'm starting to see them as 'the other'. They are conducting themselves under our name but are not serving our interests. We've been hijacked. They are not serving gays and lesbians. They've even erased us and replaced us under a 'queer' umbrella, then put trans on an equal footing. This tiny minority took over our movement.

The bisexual numbers are inflated by social contagion. Young people, especially young women, think it's cool to not be straight, so they claim bisexuality so they can still sleep with men and continue to claim the label.

“Queer” is an anti gay slur that has been appropriated by radicals to label an ideology that celebrates and advocates for whatever they consider “transgressive” in opposition to whatever they consider “normal.” As a proud gay man, I reject it wholeheartedly.

It's a backlash to trans, imo. The vast, vast majority do not want primary school kids being told to figure out their gender, do not want minors put on health-destroying hormones and blockers, and do not want men in women-only areas. They blame LGB for what they are seeing.

This is what happens when you go from acceptance to cramming. It is also indicative of the Democrats as a whole on EVERYTHING. Intolerance/inconvenience for the majority for a small minority (.5% in this case). It doesn't mean you disrespect that small minority, but Democrats love to force the majority to do things for that minority or not do things because it could “potentially” impact that small minority. It is their reverse discrimination approach.

It is a problem that A LOT of their own community is not brave enough to speak about. Sort of like the cruise ship that was denied entry Türkiye and Egypt. The ones aboard and spectators online were clueless as to why. It is pure ignorance and they need to be educated. It’s because their religion condemns your existence and some will take you to the top of buildings to test if you have wings. Simply factual information that your bubble hasn’t made you aware of. I am a live and let live type of person. Some are not.

I wish I could find the article from a little over 10 years ago that predicted trans/queer ideology & trans rights would eventually destroy the progress made with gay rights and marriage equality. It was eerily prescient.

He isn't wrong. I thought gay marriage was fine. But I now see it as the slippery slope that led to an avalanche of degenerate shit that ended with trans school teachers convincing boys to chop off their penises behind the parents' backs and girls to chop off their breasts. Allowing gay marriage almost immediately resulted in all the things gay people said we were crazy to think they would do.

@L__G__B There are several LGB groups that feel this way. They fought for decades for their freedoms and then TQ+ hijacked the movement with extremist views. Started including children and then became violent. They actually made the slippery slope anti-gay people right.

From where I stand, as a retired R.N., I KNOW that gender identity disorder was listed as a mental illness. THEN someone paid them to change the terminology to gender dysphoria. IT is a mental illness rooted in sexual deviancy. Why are we not treating the MENTALLY ILL?

Trans mania and the flag they jammed down everyone’s throats was the beginning of the end, THANK GOD. It became a victimhood mentality, but yet a privilege mentality. “You must partake in my delusions”, and to affirm that you’re taking part, HR is going to ensure you have pronouns in your bio/signature, and you use my preferred pronouns performatively when you address me or refer to me in and out of the work setting. And the penalty for refusing is you lose your job.
