There's even more....
*Important please read.
In a mistake I won't make again, I initially glanced over an image in Spider-Man: Brand New Day - The Art of the Movie, but after speaking with multiple artists, in my opinion it looks like it was made using AI.
The image seen below has warped taxis and building details, evidence of more than 'photobashing'. Of course, I cannot confirm this for certain, but it has multiple indicators. It should be highlighted and I want my coverage of artbooks to be fair and informative, so people can make informed choices about the books.
It's important to note that this was not done by a current or former member of the Visual Development team, each of which are extremely talented and do not use AI. Their work on the movie was superb and I look forward to seeing more from them following the team layoffs earlier this year.
I shouldn't have looked over this and hate that I only just picked it up. While I was expecting this to happen eventually, I did not expect it to happen in a Marvel artbook if this is indeed AI. Another image also includes stock photo watermarks as well, again this is not from the former Vis Dev artists.
I have updated my review to indicate this and will be paying very close attention to all images in the future. 📚
