There’s a sentence in Zbigniew Brzezinski’s The Grand Chessboard, published in 1997, that Europeans should have read more carefully.
He called Europe America’s "essential geopolitical bridgehead" on the Eurasian continent.
Not a partner. Not an ally in the full sense of the word.
A bridgehead.
A military term. The position you seize on hostile territory to enable further operations.
Brzezinski was one of the most honest American strategists of the 20th century, and he was honest about this:
Europe’s role in American grand strategy was not to become a sovereign power in its own right. It was to remain the western anchor of American Eurasian dominance.
Close enough to matter. Dependent enough to manage.
For decades, Europeans read that as flattery.
The energy bills since 2022 have translated it accurately.

Russland er en stormakt med verdens største arsenal av atomvåpen som kan leveres med hypersoniske raketter som vi ikke har noe forsvar mot. De har en enorm høyteknologisk industriell base fundamentert på verdens rikeste energi og ressurstilgang i kombinasjon med en av verdens mest sofistikerte militærindustrielle kompleks.
De er også mer eller mindre alliert med verdens soleklart største realøkonomi med en industriell kapasitet som får resten av verden til å se ut som 7.klasse sløyd.
Hadde det ikke vært bedre for Norge å ha et godt forhold til Russland i stedet for å aspirere til å bli en proxy-arena for amerikanernes forsøk på å utmatte dem?
Vi kunne i det minste opplyst våre landsmenn om at krigen i Ukraina ikke var et uprovosert angrep fra russernes side, men en forsvarskrig for å hindre at Krim, Donbas og Svartehavet ble bastioner for amerikansk eskaleringsdominans over Russland?
Vi kunne selvsagt også opplyst om at de millionene av russisktalende sørøst-ukrainere som de vestukrainske etnonasjonalistene (også kjent som "nazister") ville enten etnisk rense, eller kulturelt utrydde, også har krav på menneskerettigheter og beskyttelse?
Men, neida. Vi valgte i stedet en levestandardsforringende lavskala-evighetskrig med potensiale for når som helst å eskalere ut av kontroll til et menneskehetsutslettende atomragnarok. Vi er rett og slett genier!

That video went on to receive 30 million views on YouTube. Why?
Because he spoke the truth that no other “contemporary scholar” would say.
He has not discredited himself. He correctly predicted the future and this is why he is regarded as an expert on the Russia Ukraine War.
Can't think of a contemporary scholar who has so discredited himself and his work as Mearsheimer has done over Ukraine.

Hüseyin is absolutely right. If we don’t force them to reverse this authoritarian crap against him, these EU dictators are gonna come for all of us in the dissident movement. Either it stops with @hussedogru, Jacques Baud and @Nath_Yamb, or much worse starts with them. We gotta oppose this extralegal authoritarianism.
