I just went into my message request and 8 months ago someone sent me a message and berated me for still having twitter and they are unsubscribing on twitch and leaving my discord. Lol they really showed me 🤭

I swear y'all can't read. Streamers and mods CAN see this still. Why does it matter if another chatter cant see another chatter's followage? You know you can still do !followage and have a bot tell you? The internet really just loves to hate on everything.

If someone says: "I need you to show up for streams" "I need you to be more active in discord or I'm kicking you" "I need more support, why even bother?" "Im quitting streaming unless y'all do better" Run. This is not it. Ive seen SO many people posting things like this on twitter. That's not how you grow at all, and that's actually called a bully. Don't be around bullies.

3 OBS settings I check on EVERY stream that most creators don’t know about: 1. Turn off Instant Replay → frees up GPU/CPU resources when you don’t use it 2. IP Family: IPv4 Only → can help avoid connection issues with certain networks 3. Split your video encoders → OBS on NVENC H.264, TikTok Live Studio on x264 so you’re not making your GPU do all the work This is for MY set up- but have saved me SO many times from stream hiccups. What are your go-to settings?

Your audience is literally telling you what to post. Comments. DMs. Chat questions. Those “small” questions people keep asking you, That’s content! You dont have to guess what your audience wants and instead just listen to what they’re already asking for.

Here's how I'd build a YouTube channel from 0 subscribers in 2026. 1. Pick one painfully specific audience. Not “gamers.” Not “fitness.” “People who want X and are obsessed with Y.” 2. Build around a transformation, not a topic. Every video should answer: What does the viewer get after watching this? 3. Make 30–50 video ideas before posting. If I can’t come up with 50 compelling ideas, the niche probably isn't strong enough. 4. Obsess over the title + thumbnail BEFORE filming. The video is the product. The title and thumbnail are the storefront. 5. Start with searchable + curiosity-driven videos. Search gives you your first viewers. Curiosity gives you your next 10,000. 6. Turn every successful video into a series. One video gets traction? Don't celebrate and move on. Make 5 more versions of what worked. 7. Use Shorts as discovery, not as the entire strategy. Shorts can introduce people to you. Long-form builds the relationship. 8. Study retention, not subscribers. I'd ask: Where did people leave? Why? Then I'd fix that section in the next video. 9. Post less, but make every upload better. I'd rather publish one exceptional video every week than four videos nobody remembers. 10. After 90 days, kill what isn't working. Keep the audience. Im quitting streaming. My first break was for 1 year, and now this break will be for 6 months. I have to add four weekly EMT shifts, with school M-Thurs and my 30hr/week WFH job. I have to work nights to fit it all in while taking Ochem and Physio, known hard classes. My dream of going to Medical School is higher priority than streams. Im not partaking in subtember At a certain point, my community has become to feel like my such good friends and I know how everyone is struggling with money right now, even with averaging anywhere from 50-100ccv, I've started to feel uncomfortable asking to meet sub goals. "Where do you actually hire an editor or assistant editor as a streamer?" This is one of the questions I get asked a lot, because finding someone who understands streamer content is VERY different from finding a random video editor. If you're looking to outsource your content, here are the places I'd start: 1. Twitter/X Search for things like: - "video editor" - "streamer editor" - "YouTube editor" - "short form editor" - "assistant editor" Then look through their posts and portfolios. 2. Discord communities A lot of editors are hanging out in creator, streaming, gaming, and editing Discords. This can be especially useful if you want someone who already understands Twitch culture. 3. Upwork / Freelancer These are useful when you want to hire someone for a specific project and compare multiple candidates. You can post exactly what you need: "I stream 4x per week and am looking for someone to turn my VODs into YouTube videos and short-form content." 4. Fiverr Fiverr can be great for testing someone BEFORE committing to a long-term relationship. Don't immediately hire someone for 20 videos. Give them ONE project. Then decide if you want to continue. 5. LinkedIn Don't sleep on LinkedIn. There are TONS of professional editors looking for freelance work, especially people with backgrounds in YouTube, broadcast, film, advertising, and social media. 6. Film schools / local colleges This is a REALLY underrated option. If you're looking for an assistant editor, reach out to film programs, media programs, or student organizations. There are students who already know Premiere, Resolve, After Effects, Photoshop, etc. who are looking for real-world experience. You may find someone who is newer professionally but technically VERY good. Just make sure you're offering a fair rate. "They're a student" does not mean "free labor." I’ve done 100 sponsorships. Here are 5 things I wish creators knew about brand deals: 1. The first offer is rarely the best offer. Negotiate. Brands expect it. 2. Your audience is more valuable than your follower count. Engagement, trust, and niche matter. 3. You don’t have to say yes to everything. A bad brand deal can hurt your audience’s trust. 4. Know exactly what you’re being paid for. Usage rights, exclusivity, deliverables, revisions, and deadlines all have value. 5. Treat brands like business partners, not free money. Be professional, communicate well, and make their job easy. That’s how you get invited back.

Stop introducing yourself at the beginning of your videos → Get into the premise first. Your viewer clicked because they want the answer; give them an immediate payoff. ❌ “Hey, I’m Hollie. I’m a content creator and I’ve been making videos for years…” ✅ “If your videos aren’t getting views, your first 3 seconds might be the problem.” Give them a reason to care first. Your introduction can come later.

I’ve been streaming for 6 years. Here are 6 things I wish I knew when I started. 1) Don't stream every day 2) Create content on all platforms 3) Panels / Overlays dont matter that much 4) You can hire an assistant editor for way cheaper than a main editor 5) Treat stream like a hobby, not a full-time job 6) Don't let ANYONE disturb your peace. Put your phone down when things go crazy and realize the world is so much bigger than the internet. I rarely stream nowadays but if anyone has any questions, ask away! I love helping ❤️

I don't think movies should be 8 hours long. 3 hours is pushing it tbh. If you agree, then why are your streams 8+ hours? Unless you're doing a subathon or an extremly polished event, stream for 3-4hours then use the rest of the time to edit the VOD.

How Im working on turning one livestream into a week of content: • Research + plan what you want to teach, solve, or discuss • Pick 2–3 big ideas you want viewers to leave with • Build moments into the stream that can become standalone stories or videos • Record scripted hooks before/during the stream (your community won’t mind) • Use stream markers or an auto-clipper to flag one-off moments • Think beyond “hanging out”: solve a problem, teach something, tell a story, or create a question you can answer later • Reinvest streaming money into an editor/assistant editor to rough-cut your footage and save yourself hours • Give your editor the downloaded clips+project file to save yourself money • Turn one strong idea into multiple formats instead of posting the exact same clip everywhere • Record your VOD with separated audio tracks so you have editable footage • At the end of the week, look at what performed best and use that to plan your next stream Your livestream isn’t the finished content. It’s the raw footage for your content. This technique isn’t for everyone, and I stream as a hobby, so I haven’t done this myself. But I love researching and learning, so I’m going to give it a shot and report back once school settles down and I can stream more.
