Sadly, Araba later died after her cancer spread. But as her illness progressed, palliative care helped her reconnect with things that still brought comfort and meaning, including music and prayer. Even when cure is no longer possible, who a child is still matters.

Before treatment, nine-year-old Kalu loved volleyball and cricket with his school friends in Nepal. During cancer treatment, Family Support Officer Prerana encouraged him to try drawing. As Kalu’s interest in art grew, so did his confidence.
