Pandemic prevention, preparedness and response is not just an aspiration. It is a global public good. My one ask to world leaders at the #UNGA High-Level Meeting: get the Pathogen Access and Benefit Sharing annex to the Pandemic Agreement done. As soon as possible.

That’s a wrap on #UNGA. Different countries. Different priorities. Different perspectives. But health is one thing that connects us all. Preparedness for future health threats is a shared responsibility.

In an #Ebola response, every element must work together, from diagnostics and patient care to community engagement, leadership and coordination. When every part of the response is aligned, lives are saved, and the outbreak can be brought to an end.

One size doesn’t fit all when it comes to contraception. The right choice depends on your health, preferences, and needs. Options include: - Condoms - Pills - Patches - Vaginal Rings - Implants - Intrauterine devices (IUDs) - Sterilization Choose contraception that’s right for you.

At #UNGA, world leaders renewed their commitment to preventing and preparing for future pandemics. Countries also stressed the urgent need to conclude negotiations on an annex to the WHO Pandemic Agreement that would establish the Pathogen Access and Benefit-Sharing (PABS) system. As of 23 September 2026, #DRC has reported 7890 confirmed cases, including 3799 deaths, with a case fatality ratio of 48.1%. At the national level, the number of new cases reported each day remains high. However, the situation varies across the country, with some provinces and health zones experiencing much higher levels of transmission than others. In today’s interconnected world, an outbreak anywhere can become a threat everywhere. Viruses don't stop at borders. Neither can our response. Health security is a shared responsibility, powered by investment and collaboration.

Nearly a year after the ceasefire, #Gaza remains a humanitarian and public health emergency. The health system is under immense strain, and needs remain enormous. @WHO’s call is clear: rapid, sustained and unhindered humanitarian access. Medical supplies must get in, health facilities must be restored, referral pathways reopened, and medical evacuations expanded. We welcome today’s Call to Action on Humanitarian access and Health, and thank 🇬🇧 Foreign Secretary @Ed_Miliband, 🇶🇦 Prime Minister and Foreign Minister @MBA_AlThani_ and 🇯🇴 Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister @AymanHsafadi for keeping Gaza’s health needs high on the #UNGA agenda. The best medicine is peace. Until then, we must do everything possible to save lives, alleviate suffering and restore access to health care.

When children learn health messages at school, they often share them with their families, and this is how awareness can spread throughout the community. WHO is working together with partners, the government and the communities to stop the outbreak.
