Unemployed and self-employed men on average have way more aura than institutionalised men (not including prison) because they are literally not being spoken down to like a potentially misbehaving child servant everyday. I mean it does make sense that a man who does not have to sell his dignity for a living, who doesn’t have to fit in with a feminised DEI workplace by being a fake social climber managing bullshit female social politics, but instead gets to do things on his own terms would be way more spiritually potent than a man who has, day in and day out, for years, been conditioned to be a passive aggressive female friendly family safe good boy to survive under the threat of poverty The modern workplace forces a type of femininity on men that is emasculating - a type of humiliation ritual designed to sap all the bravado and charm and risk taking and masculine potency out of a man, whilst doing the opposite to women: making them hard, cold, more conniving than they naturally are and altogether bitchy and unpleasant Can you really say you’re a man in the truest sense, and feel that you are in how you carry yourself if you are in a servile role towards people you don’t respect day in and day out for years on end? People who control and dictate to you how you use your highest energy most productive hours day in day out, leaving you with the low energy scraps to assign to hobbies you can barely do before passing out from fatigue? Your time is never your own? You can’t tell ridiculous people to shut the fuck up and bitch slap their souls because that gets you fired, and you are always biting your tongue, full of resentment, having to listen to asinine people you can’t escape? It’s fucking poison. The corporate workplace is gay. Any workplace that does not follow masculine social rules is depressing and gay. You will hate your life.
For corporate there was an article by @SovereignIM that vividly explained how and what corporate does to a man and his soul

Do NOT sleep on Vitamin D. Profound hormone. Should be illegal to sell OTC

Fail. This is the most obvious but also the most undervalued. Fail as many times as possible in your twenties while you have the time to recover.

It's really as simple and as hard as that: invest as much as possible as early as you can before age 30. Then you'll be set.
Good article from @WSPArchive today. Paraphrasing plus my own thoughts: The math does not lie. Once you hit a certain level of invested assets, ideally as early as possible since time dominates investing & compounding math, you are largely in the clear pending catastrophic failure or other unlikely extremes $500-750k invested at age 30 with no further contributions will be $5M at 50 in most cases. Feel like you can generate some alpha or continue to invest more? Now call it $7.5M+ The key to this is to keep lifestyle in check and/or not continuing to move the goalposts What this allows is for you to become both more risk on and take the foot off the gas at the same time Can’t comprehend how you can do both? Straight forward… stop doing things you don’t want to do and lean into things you want to do and also take risks which is fun. It becomes riskier at this point to play it safe Play the long game, delay gratification, and set yourself & your family up for success. Once you hit this inflection point you’re an idiot if you don’t start optimizing your life

QUICK TO HAVE KIDS? (reader's comment) 💬 Playing Catch Up says: By far the number one life lesson I have learned has come from reading this blog and that is about time. In the grand scheme of things, I think about how much little time we have on this planet to truly enjoy life. I used to do research in college and found how so many professors who had these phDs from prestigious schools were such depressed and generally bitter people, exceptions existing of course. We really only have a select window of opportunity to enjoy life and collect those moments that can make life fulfilling. I am going to guess that window of opportunity begins in college when we are free from parental guidance (parties at the widest at this stage) and probably ends at some point in our 30s. That window of opportunity to: • 📈 build on your skills/talents • 💃 experiment with fun things in life • 🍷 see the finer things in life • have some fun • have enjoyable moments • pursue that dream that corresponds to your talents • make it happen Just that window of opportunity to have moments we can look back on in life and be proud that we experienced them before we become “too old”. It made me want to get up every day and fight, rebel, and make something of my 20s. The value of time and that windows of opportunity in a man’s life for him to truly live. I want to experience it to the fullest before I get too old for it, got a few years left but time flies! -- This made us think how short the window is between being under parental guidance (i.e living with your parents / being dependent on them) and being a parent yourself (responsibilities, having to look after someone closely). It’s so short in of itself, yet some people intentionally make it shorter. Anyway. New article up today in the letter.

Regular People engage in costly activities that take their time away and do not help them improve their life: - tv - video games - social media Just try to count how much cumulative hours are wasted on these platforms every year.

Successful people enjoy the feeling of pressure. The nerves. The stomach drops. The increased heart rate. Everything. The reason why we love to see “clutch performances” in sports? Anyone who has achieved real success knows it is much different to perform under the limelight. It is much more impressive to perform in the face of failure. If you want to test this, go take a public speaking class then go and do a real presentation where money is on the line and you’ll feel the difference instantaneously. Or go approach a set of three 9s in front of many of your friends. On that note? Go and do something today that makes you feel uncomfortable. That is the best way to desensitize yourself to failure and fear… because failure is going to happen… a LOT.

Do you want to be strong and jacked? Cut out the bullshit and go lift some weights. Do you want to be rich? Cut out the bullshit and start working your ass off. Do you want to be free? Cut out the bullshit and cut ties with everything keeping you tied down. Do you want to travel the world? Cut out the bullshit and get on a plane. Do you want to be an artist? Cut out the bullshit and start creating. The only difference between you and the famous people you admire is that they cut out the bullshit and went for what they wanted.

here are a few uncomfortable truths: 1. your college degree was practically useless, excluding maybe 3-5 courses 2. real life is significantly harder than college 3. girls do not like younger men (don’t worry, it gets better as you close in on 30) 4. six figures is nothing 5. everyone and their mom is trying to prevent you from going up the ladder because *no one likes to see someone below them exceed them* Thank us years later

For a pro-tip, start referring to times when you’re frustrated/unhappy as “annoyed” you’ll find that your word choice will temporarily change how you feel. As your life improves, you’ll find it easier to remain in a state of happiness.
