The Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province joins the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) as a Destination Partner. China's southernmost tropical island province has built tourism into the centre of its long-term development strategy - supported by the Hainan Free Trade Port, established in 2020, and an expanding visa-free entry policy. A week of meaningful conversations in Tokyo at Tourism Expo Japan 🇯🇵 Our President & CEO, Gloria Guevara (@GGuevaraM), and Sarah Wang, Regional Director, Asia Pacific, met with WTTC Members, government leaders and industry partners from Japan and around the world to discuss the priorities and opportunities shaping the future of Travel & Tourism. A highlight was the WTTC–TEJ Leadership Meeting, co-hosted by WTTC Vice Chair and JTB Chairperson Mr. Eijiro Yamakita and the JTB Corp. team. More than 40 participants, including Japan Tourism Agency Vice Commissioner Mr. Sasaji, came together to discuss Japan's priorities and where we can further support collaboration.
