This is not profound. There are not "Word" churches and "Spirit" churches. The word of God is from the Holy Spirit (John 6:63, 2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21). If a church is a "Word" church, it is a "Spirit" church, and vice versa. Churches that are full of excitement and appear to be spiritual, if they are not devoted to the sound teaching of the word of God, they're not as Spirit-filled as they look. It's really a "feelings" church, not a Spirit church. This quote repeated by Howerton is from R.T. Kendall, who became associated with the Kansas City prophets and welcomed a false prophet in his church who prophesied things that did not happen. It's theological dressing that means bupkis. Beware hype-men who make this into more than it is.
