being a TO sucks crazy ass. you make no money at all for extreme amounts of labor, and people expect you to operate as a safe haven for freaks and weirdos who actively make your life harder and contribute nothing at all to the event itself
I am radically pro-TO when it comes to bans from melee events. I think you should be able to ban people from your events just because you don’t like them. Melee is a social game, no one would be surprised if some guy didn’t get invited to a party because he was annoying last time

I’ve been in 6 major community scenes over the past 22 years…as in, Smash Bros + 5 others.
This happens everywhere, and the reason you see it most in Smash is because the Smash scene is the most proactive in doing ANYTHING about it.
Which gets the scene villified, ironically.
What I really struggle to understand here is how this keeps coming up in the Smash community. Obviously stuff like this happens everywhere but I feel like Smash is the only place where I see it THIS often. What about our scene attracts people like this? Something’s gotta change.

another thing i find so funny is people saying i have an ego 😂 im ranked 6th in the world do you think you get there by thinking your trash i get for a lot of you your peaks will only be at the bottom half of your local prs (if your lucky) this is why a lot of you suck. no confidence, no goals, no thinking. just entering and if thats what you want thats fine but you can miss me with being some trash ass player 😂
