A Six-Planet Parade in the morning, Total Solar Eclipse in the afternoon/evening followed by the Perseid Meteor Shower at night! Here's what you need to know: 1) Before dawn, six planets — Mercury, Jupiter, Mars, Uranus, Saturn and Neptune — will be spread across the morning sky, although Uranus and Neptune require optical assistance to see well. 2) Then during the afternoon, a total solar eclipse will sweep across Greenland, Iceland, northern Russia, Spain while portions of the northern United States, Canada and other parts of the Northern Hemisphere will see a partial eclipse. 3) After dark, the show continues as the Perseid meteor shower reaches its peak overnight into August 13, with the New Moon providing exceptionally dark skies for what is expected to be one of the best meteor-viewing nights of the year!
