In collaboration with @awscloud, we're running Bharat Builds from September to December 2026. Students tell us the same thing constantly: they've done the courses, watched the tutorials, and still haven't shipped anything. What's missing isn't more content. It's the tools, people who know more than you, and a deadline. Each stop, you build alongside @awsdevelopers. You leave with a project worth showing, skills you actually use, and people worth knowing. What if creating an observability dashboard was as simple as asking for one? At Zero Downtime, Goutham Karthi from @SignozHQ showed how their MCP can take that process from several manual steps to simply asking for what you need, including creating a monitoring dashboard for a service. He also touched on why SigNoz is OpenTelemetry-native and how teams can choose between cloud and self-hosted deployments depending on how they want to run their observability stack. What happens when your observability platform locks you into its ecosystem? That’s one of the problems Goutham Karthi from @SignozHQ spoke about at Zero Downtime. Many observability platforms rely on their own SDKs, which can make moving away from them a lot more work than it should be. SigNoz took a different route. In 2021, they went all in on OpenTelemetry, an open-source standard for collecting and sending observability data, without tying your application to a proprietary SDK. Goutham also broke down the three core signals they work with: logs, metrics, and traces. Different types of data, but all helping you understand what’s happening across your services. WeMakeDevs crossed 5.6M views on Instagram in August 🚀 WeMakeDevs is where developers pick up new skills through hackathons and technical events, where the goal is always to get something built and deployed. What happens after your software actually makes it to production? At Zero Downtime, Goutham Karthi from @SignozHQ talked about the things you need to keep an eye on once software is running at scale. Traffic, latency, errors, and what’s happening across your services all become important when something eventually breaks. He also made an interesting point about open source in the age of AI. When the code behind the tools you use is open, AI coding assistants have much more context to work with when you’re debugging or trying to understand how something works. A few hours before the hackathon deadline, Team HackOGs had everything ready to submit. Their GitHub Actions were green, the deployment pipeline looked fine, and somehow the live site was completely broken. They spent the next hour debugging, found the issue, fixed the deployment, and still managed to record their submission with around two hours left. That project eventually helped them become one of the winning teams at Amazon HackOn. Yesterday we hosted the First Commit hackathon's build day in Bangalore in collaboration with AWS Builder Center, and 1,400 people showed up to build with us. This was the first in-person stop of the Bharat Builds Tour, and the turnout was much bigger than we expected. AWS mentors spent the day going from team to team, helping people get unstuck and giving feedback on what they were building. A lot of teams walked in with an idea and left with a working first version. We also had sessions from AWS engineers and industry experts on building with AWS and getting started with AWS Builder Center.
